Scientists are beginning a clinical trial to explore the 'brain-gut' interaction in patients with functional dyspepsia. This condition can cause such symptoms as cramping, bloating, and feelings of great discomfort after eating. The new study will look at whether medications approved to treat both the brain and the stomach are better than a placebo at easing this condition.
