A new study has found that smoking exacerbates the progress of Crohn's disease. Researchers in Germany say that smokers who have Crohn's are more likely to experience advanced-stage Crohn's and are more likely to undergo surgery. Experts say that while the link between the two factors is clear, the reason for it is not fully understood.
