Chinese researchers have developed a low-calorie, low-sugar vegetable juice that they say may benefit diabetics. The pear, pumpkin, onion, and carrot juices are made by using beneficial bacteria to remove carbohydrates without removing vitamins. The juice developers say the sour taste of the juice is alleviated by the addition of the sugar-substitute xylitol. Experts say the juice could be on the market within a year.
