Scientists ID behaviors that predict Crohn's disease

Scientists say environmental factors and behaviors can affect the progress of Crohn's disease, and they have isolated some of these factors in a new study. According to the new research, current smoking, prior steroid use, a history of perianal disease, and an early use of Imuran have been linked to a greater chance of changes in Crohn's disease progression in patients. The study is published in the July 28 issue of the World Journal of Gastroenterology.
