Health Tip: Are You at Greater Risk for Lactose Intolerance?

Lactose intolerance is caused by the body having difficulty processing the sugar lactose, which is found in milk and other dairy products. Some people are at greater risk for lactose intolerance, including people with celiac disease and Crohn's disease. People with a family history of the condition also are more predisposed to it, as are premature babies and members of certain ethnic groups.
