In July, 2008 I had a surgery of TVT, tubal and ablasion.  October my husband felt something sharp during intercourse and so I went into the doctor and he told me I fell into that 1% of women that have erosion.  He performed an in office operation to cut around, resecure, and re-stitch and said he fixed it and it shouldn't happen again as he provided many layers over the area.  Well now, 2 months later, it has happened again.  He told me to come back in to take a look, but I would like to know what my options are.  Please help.  Do I have him resecure it again?  I have terrible insurance and can't have this keep happening.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Nicky

Have it removed , not cut around it.

Nicky,

I am in exactly the same place you are.  Going in tomorrow, because after the in-office "fix" a month ago, DH says it's worse now than it was before.  I can feel it there, too, and he's right.  Before, it was just the "soft" mesh, now it's the frayed, much sharper-feeling edges coming through.  I got mine done originally in 8/09.  Please keep us posted on how it goes.  I'm not sure if I'm jumping the gun yet on already wanting to get a second opinion.  DH is furious that I'm having to go through this.  I just feel so guilty, and like I should've just left well enough alone.

Take care!

I feel your pain and am finally seeing the end I hope.  I ended up having two surgeries, one inpatient and one outpatient and also an in office fix again before my Ob said he couldnt do anything for me and that I would have to go to a Urologist.  I was beside myself.  We have 80% medical insurance so my bills are through the roof and in collections right now.

I went to a Urologist and I told him to remove it and be done with it.  My other doc didnt want to mess with removing it and frankly I am glad I didnt have him do it.  The Urlogist did another operation.  He removed the old and put in the right one in the right place.  He told me he would have never used the one the other doc used and that he put it in the wrong place.  Off the record of course.  Probably so I dont sue.

Since then....everything has been wonderful.  He insisted even though I was crying and telling him I didnt want to deal with the fear of it coming out again and he assured me it wouldn't.  I went with it and am so thankful.  Our sex life suffered for so long.  Having to wait 6-8 weeks after the 5 previous procedures was horrible.  To this day, I ask my husband if he feels anything.  I do have a build of up scar tissue which is really sensitive at times, but that is it.

Are you seeing a specialist?  If not, go to one NOW!

Hope you find a doctor that can fix you.  I know how you feel and am sorry.

Keep me posted.

Sincerely.

Nicky
