Post TVT question

By mkwinters Saturday, December 22, 2007

Well, I've read the horror stories regarding TVT and they've scared me. But, I've had many surgeries, researched potential problems beforehand, and been successful. So I'm hoping the same with this surgery.

Here are my issues tho:

1. I have SEVERE pain at one of the "stab sites" on my pelvic wall. Not all the time, but most. The pain is worse with movement, when I stretch out to sleep or attempt to touch the site.

2. I can feel sutures RIGHT inside my vagina. In fact, I got a mirror and can see them! Everything is so swollen and painful, maybe these will receed. But I don't have an appointment until 4 weeks post-op - I assume these are disolvable?

3. How long until these disolve? I seriously don't think I can even consider sexual activity with those protruding like that!

4. I have to stand to void. The nurse said this is normal and will take "some time for things to loosen" - WHAT? Does this sound right?

Ok, so there you have it. ANY input is appreciated!

Happy Holidays!

I could barely sit for 4 days.  If you go to youtube you can watch how the procedure is done. I understood why my legs hurt so bad.  I had my surgery on Dec 19th.  Today is Jan 3rd.  I went to urinate and felt something pop.  I am really worried.  I don't plop down in a chair anymore that is for sure.  I was swollen in the vaginal area.  I put ice on it because it was so bad.

It's been 3 days since my tvt surgery. I am a little tender but otherwise feel perfectly normal. I am already reaping the rewards of this surgery. I sneezed today-yes it hurt because I am still tender but no urine leakage. I would call that a major success. I hope my luck continues!

In the past five months I have had a rectal and vaginal prolapse repair, this did not cure my incontinence (I am only 43yrs old and already had a hysterectomy). 7 weeks ago I had a another vaginal prolapse repair (the original one drop slightly again) and a tvt repair. Post op recovery was ok, but now I have an urgency and frequency to urinate all the time. This is better than incontinece but so annoying. I also have stabbing & dragging pains occassionally, is this normal ??? I have not had intercourse yet as I am too scared because of the pain. Will this go away ???

Does anyone know if you can have oral sex with no penetration just with the clit after a tvt operation?
