I am, for all intents and purposes, a teetotaler. We had a celebration at my church (I'm a Whiskeypalian *snicker*) in which I had about 6 ounces of champagne. I drank about half of it (empty stomach, but I didn't guzzle, just sipped) and about 10-15 minutes later I had a burning sensation in my bladder and a strong urge to void. The next day I had about 3-4 ounces of red wine and the same thing happened. Does anyone know if alcohol can be metabolized that quickly into something that irritates the bladder? When I did drink fairly regularly (long time ago!) I don't remember this happening. I have had a TURP and botox for UI caused by the TURP. (See some of my other posts for details.) Anyone have a similar experience? Not really a problem, just another reason to not imbibe.
