I believe my Botox is finally wearing off. As a direct result my urge incontinence (UI) is slowly returning.   Typically Botox last about 6 to 9 months, with the full effect lasting about 4-5 months (for me at least). Then it begins to slowly taper off. My urologist has indicated that for...

    Hi Pete,

Oh, no -- it's (coming) back. Sorry to hear that. But, at least you know that Botox does work for you -- which is a blessing, right? Keep us posted on your next steps...

    Best,

    Maria

    Maria,

Yes, it is most definately a blessing! The Botox, that is, not the UI! *snicker*

I truly wish more people with UI had access to this treatment. I know some people have had problems with it, but for me it works. Keeps me dry for months!

    Take care,

    Pete

I had mine one year ago and the spasms are starting and I am now worrying about drinking too much water and having those awful releases that overflow the pads i wear. I don't want to start that again, i had that for 10 years. But i am afraid that i might be doing it too soon. should i wait or just do it to avoid the pain  and discomfort and wetness increasing. Reading the other posts has helped some.

If Botox lasted a year for you, that's terrific! I've only gotten about 6 months or so of relief.

If you have access to Botox and have started having accidents again, I don't know a good reason to wait. Did you have problems with it the last time you it done?
