Get out of jury duty due to incontinence....

By yomike Thursday, January 14, 2010

For whatever it is worth, it is easy to get out of jury duty due to incontinence.

I was finally summoned and I went to my urologist, and she gave a note to fax to the courts.

I ended up having to serve on a jury case that lasted three days.  I didn't see my doc., but then it didn't occur to me to even ask for an excuse.  The case that I was on was filled with breaks, long lunch periods and the jury being retired to it's jury room while lawyers played thier games with the judge.  I did learn that it's a somewhat easy life for the lawyers and the judges to argue a case in the court room. (My opinion).  I did have time to visit the restroom often, to change if it was necessary and for the most part, a fairly easy time of it.

They should definitely let you out of jury duty if you are dealing with incontinence issues. A doctors note should be all you need.

I didn't even consider "getting out" of jury duty. I simply controlled my liquid intake a bit more than usual, and wore a Molicare diaper and plastic pants. I had no problems at all. In fact, the diaper seemed to work better than usual, since I was sitting all the time, as opposed to standing up. The case lasted five days, and was quite an education.
