BOTOXbarb

By BOTOXBARB Wednesday, April 25, 2007
Two weeks ago I had Botox injected into my bladder for incontinence that occured upon standing, like getting out of bed or up from the couch. Gradually it became more difficult to void sitting down, and I was able to go only by standing over the toilet. Then I was going every 15-30 minutes. Now I have to use a catheter 4-5 times daily. My Dr. said I just have to wait for the collegen to wear off- anywhere from 6-9 months. Has anyone else had this expierence? Is there any help for me other than waiting? Could this be a permanent condition? I'm scared!

Hi Again---Well in just 3 more days it will be three months since my Botox injections and I still have to self cath 4-5 times a day. After I got over the original shock and learned the in and outs (pardon the pun) of self cathing, it's not so bad. At least I don't have to worry about incontinence! I've been able to go on some trips and every thing worked fine! Just wondering if anyone else has had this expierence. BotoxBarb

Hello Again:   I have posted two share posts since April if 2007 but have never had a response.  I do hope someone can give me an answer. I had Botox injected into my bladder in April 2007. Since then I have been ubable to urinate without using a catheter. I saw my doctor last week and he said he didn't know why this had happened but it looks like this is going to be permanent. For the rest of my life!  Has this happened to anyone else?  BOTOXBARB
