Your question speaks to me powerfully: because my urinary system is fine, one support group said that I was "not really incontinent." I can respect that, but there is such a thing as "functional incontinence", which fits me: thanks to absorbent products, I'm living a much healthier life. I posted details in my journal entry, but the question is: am I incont?

Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 09:41 AMI read somewhere a definition that said incontinence was when control problems became a problem in your life. To me that means it's largely self-defined -- a problem in your life may not be a problem in another person's.
There's so much that could be defined as "incontinence" that there's more than one answer.
