Does Aging Cause Incontinence?

It isn't uncommon to come across the belief that incontinence is a normal part of aging - something to be expected as we get older. In reality, incontinence is always caused by something that isn't working quite right in the body. While incontinence is more common in the elderly, it is never "normal"...

One of your factors hit home with me.

I was a bartender for about 13 years and had many occasions when I could not leave the bar to tend to my bathroom needs.I would sometimes hold my urine for hours aiting for my replacement or a slow period.

Maybe this has contributed to my incontinence.

This was a very informative Sharepost.

 Thank you.

It seems that work situations like yours, or on a factory floor, alone behind a retail counter, etc, are the prime situations in which people get into trouble with holding their bladder for too long. If you work in a situation that makes it difficult to urinate when you need to, try speaking with your superior to work out a solution that makes everyone happy.

I believe that incontinence is a normal part of aging.  Eventually body parts do not work as good as they used too.
