working wet

By gene Tuesday, January 06, 2009

Iv been urinary incontinent now for 11 years. Going to school, or work while wearing heavy cloth diapers and waterproof plastic panties has been difficult for me!

Wet, urine soakerd diapers keep the worry of leakage on my mind throughout the day. I hope some one can help me with this by recommending a brand of disposable diaper that might help me cope with this problem Im having.

WELL IT NOT FULL PROOF BUT WHAT I DO WHEN GOING TO WORK IS WEAR ONE DIAPER OVER ANOTHER IT IS A LITTLE BULKIE BUT IF IT LAST TILL LUNCH TAKE OFF THE INNER ONE AND YOU STILL HAVE ONE ON , REMIMBER TO TIGHTEN IT UP A BIT AFTER THAT COZ IT COULD FALL OFF IF YOU WET IT HEAVY NEXT TIME , IN DIAPERS  FOR 14 YEARS

I have a friend at work who has spina bifida, and also is incontinent, that she prefers to wear disposable moicare diapers with an extra cloth pad inserted into them for work. She changes her diapers about every 6 to 9 hours if she is able. She has asked what Iv been wearing to work and she was surprised to hear that I use heavy flannel 6 ply diapers with plastic panties.

I live in tacoma wa where i work as a nusing assistant at a local rest home for the disabled and elderly. I just began this new job and its the best job iv had in a long time. I dont have to worry about anyone discovering that im incontinent because most already know all about me as im from their certified nursing class and i was very up front about me disability from day one.

I noramlly only wear disposable diapers to work.  Cloth diapers would not work in this environment.

One of the things I found very helpful is to add an insert into the diaper.  I normally use a cotton receiving blanket and fold it into four for additional absorbency, and it doesn't add that much more bulk.  The double diaper works well also, but I find that the outer one tends to shift alot over the inner one.

I wear diapers all the time also.  I have had type I diabetes for over 35 years and just can't hold me urine. I wear Abena X-plus with a baby diaper as a liner.  The Abena brand is the very best I have found.  I have accepted the diapers and now feel confident and comfortable in going to work or anywhere else. Wink  Diapers are just my kind of underwear.  Adam
