I'm overweight. Not morbidly obese but probably a good 60 pounds overweight. I'm working on losing the weight and have probably lost about 8 or so pounds in the past month. I'm on my way. Will losing most or all of the excess weigh reduce/improve the stress incontinence situation even before getting surgery? I'd like to avoid getting the surgery and wanted to reduce my weight anyway.
Thank you for your SharePost, Dr. Sobol.
You draw attention to obesity in an uncommon way with it's link to stress incontinence. Thank you for pointing this out once again.
As you've said, obesity has become a national epidemic for Americans - the all-around risk factor. There's not one area of health that won't ultimately suffer from it - urinary health included.
Keep the important information coming. Thank you.
Best,
Maria
