Can I Get a New Bladder?

If a bladder is augmented, do the bladder muscles stop working completely? Or do they have limited function that won't allow the "new" bladder to empty completely, requiring periodic cathing?

what if ya know, what if, we could just regenerate the nerves  thats what I'm waiting for I'm just a lay person but I think most of these problems are irritated nerves or dameged do ya think? davidbSmile

I am wondering if you could tell me the present level of progress with the study at Wake Forest where they use one's own cells to try to regenerate the bladder miuscle.

Hello.  The work that is being done at Wake Forest... would that mean that a person such as me, having had my bladder and urethra surgically removed due to an extreme case of interstitial cystitis could forseably gain both back?
