I agree with everything that was said, but I would like to add that I have noticed that it is VERY easy to forget about changing on time, or allowing for the extra food and drinks we normally have.
Wearing an extended wear brief helps me so that I dont have an issue with changing and hiding the used brief, but on the flip side you have to wear clothes that will hide the thicker brief.

I remember just before last Christmas when I went to buy diapers that and my type where sold out. So there are probably something in what you say.
I can also notice, I wet myself more often when it comes to Christmas and other big events.
