Baby disposables make great soakers! Just be sure to slit the cover, so urine passes through to whatever diaper is on the outside. They make thin, inexpensive disposables more absorbent. As for cloth, you don't need to wear as thick a diaper if you use a disposable as a soaker. When the soaker gets wet, slide it out, and you've got another diaper to wear without having to change. In this case, you don't want to slit the disposable's cover. This method usually lasts me the whole day.

Euroflex pants, which are made of polyurethane, are available from www.angelfluff.com and www.plastic-pants.com, among many other places. They are called by other names by the different sources; look for the word 'polyurethane'. They're very light weight, don't hold odors, and are comfortable to wear. They are a little noisy, if that's a concern, but they wear like iron. They're also a little on the pricy side, but they last so long that you'll go through 2-3 pair of vinyl pants, and the Euroflex will still be going strong.

Euroflex 'plastic' pants are available in Australia from a great online store who are very helpful at www.physiosupplies.com.au The guy there is very knowledable and friendly - also has a wide variety of other more standard pants too with adult cloth nappies and adult diapers.
Great advice. Thank you for sharing all that you have with us. Keep the tips coming!
