Hi Thomas.
I wrote that years ago. I am still in nappies 24/7/52. Several people have contacted me in that time and come back to me reporting that my system works.
I believe that ALL people should from time to time re-regulate themselves for health reasons by going diapered for, say, a month or two.
The biggest problem is public acceptance. Generally folks treat diaperdom like nudism or other off-beat lifestyle, with prejudice. They just will not accept that diapers and pants these days are so manufactured that chaffing and odour leaks are almost non-existent.
So I chose to go large by campaigning for nappies to be acceptable public wear, say on beaches or on hot days. After all, the reasons parents just put their toddlers in nappy and shirt is the heat issue. Diapers under clothes can be unnecessarily warm in the summer. Also, why should there not be a diaper fashion industry, as with boxers or tangas?
The health gains in respect of fewer deaths far outweigh any social or image risks that I shall be taking. Probably the way to approach it is NOT to be babyish, which I am not anyway, because that will be seen as a fetish, again not my motivation.
However most adults who are exhibitionist about diapers are ABDLs, whereas most genuine bowel health sufferers are very discreet or reticent about them. So I may be a campaign of one.
It is admittedly a confrontational approach, but that is what a protest is. I have only pursued this on a few dozen occasions so far, but was arrested once for being diapered on the beach. I was doing nothing that I would not have been doing in trunks or shorts (well, other than the obvious lol). I was not naked, indeed I was more covered than in regular beachwear. It appears walking in t-shirt and nappy to a beach kiosk for a drink was frowned upon.
Anyway I was releaseded and they did accept my incontinence record as an "alibi". I did not tell them that I was hardly incontinent anyway any more and that wearing diapers had been the reason. But I was asked that I did not walk around. So, everyone else can walk to the sea, to the kiosk etc, except me? That is hardly equal rights, considering I had committed no offence.
I have since refused to adhere to that request and thankfully there have been no issues since. What has surprised me is that people have chatted with me comfortably regardless that I am wearing a nappy. So, if you behave appropriately there is still a certain mindset of acceptance.
It will be interesting to see the reaction if I were to walk out on to the promenade in diaper and shirt. That may be a bridge too far. I shall have to think about it. maybe joining a "pride" rally or similar in just a nappy with a protest banner would be more appropriate.
I shall work on this. Of course if such a campaign were to be successful, from that point forward there would be no further need for confrontation. That is what I am aiming for; a world that makes nothing of it.
Be assured, my bowel-related relapses have become more infrequest as the years have passed, although I do have less sphinctre control by usage and pee'n'poo more often. I am also wetting and messing in far greater volume overall than the average person. This is of course because I am not re-digesting half my waste as is the case with non-nappy-wearers. Further evidence that it is "the right way"!
I am surprised that the medical sextor has not latched on to this. I am sure tena, Abena etc could see the commercial gain from widespread acceptance of diapers as regular underwear.
This will be work in progress for many years yet.
