One of the worst aspects of being a bedwetter is when peers find out that you're a wetter who still wears diapers. Sometimes they act stunned that a teen still wears diapers at night, and then turn sarcastic and mean. It's not possible to keep it a complete secret when you wear cloth diapers and plas...

It's kids like you who can make the problem better for you and other kids. Yes, it's embarrassing, but your bedwetting is not who you are, it's something that you have to deal with. The fact that our society needs to be so private about their bathroom habits, that many kids and adults aren't more aware that there are those out there that have problems that are not associated to something like paralysis, and that it's something they just can't help. It doesn't make them any less of a person, or any less mature. Developing a sense of confidence and self esteem will help you not be bothered by the immature comments of others. Hopefully you can, or have developed, a "so what" attitude. My brother was a bedwetter until he was about 11 (several decades ago) and the fact that he wet the bed didn't bother me unless of course we were somewhere where we had to share a bed. Then I was pretty grossed out by the idea. In any case, it's a good indicator of how good your friends are. Friends will be accepting of the problem and will not tease or ridicule you. Sometimes teasing may also be a way of expressing that they are uncomfortable about the situation. A "take it in stride" or "so what" attitude will help others around you be more comfortable about the situation. Remember that a big part of the problem is that the privacy element in terms of bodily functions is a major contributor to the stigma associated with bedwetting. Hang tough. Great job with the posting.

I've had problems wetting the bed since I was about 15 , and you do run accross some people that don't understand but you don't have too put up with there ignorance. But there is some of us that do understand and have been there. So always feel free to discuss it with us here on this sight.I have found that the cotton diapers and plastic pants are the best at night , and the depends pull ups double during the day are very good and hold alot of urine.Ken K.
