Hi, I have started taking Detrol La 4mg. I have headaches that come and go all day. The area affected is my forehead. Nothing on the site says what to do for headaches. I also take Celebrex which is not suppose to matter. I have been taking Detrol for one week and the headaches have been here for about 5 days. I normally am not prone to headaches. I have been wondering...I have always had a problem with time released capsules. I think that this might be the problem , everytime that it is released I get a headache?? Please get back to me. Hi Pat,
Thank you for your question! Although headache is a possible side effect of Detrol, the reference I consulted indicates that headache is actually less common in the extended release formulation as opposed to the immediate release formulation. You should speak with your doctor or pharmacist about what you could do for the headaches. I'd rather not recommend anything to you because I don't know anything about your other medications, other medical conditions, etc. You mention that it may have to do with the extended release formulation - you may want to discuss with your doctor about trying the immediate release Detrol, which is available in a generic formulation.
