Is it possible for a long term uti to cause an elevated PSA?

Dan999
04/24/09
I have been paraplegic for twenty years. For most of that time, I used an indwelling catheter. Was finally able to switch over to condom caths in 2007. I had had what was diagnosed a chronic uti for years, but a new doctor helped me clear that up. However, my PSA was elevated and I was sent for further testing. The new prostate exam and PSA level were normal.
