Is Detro la bad for our health?

Hello,

I have to go to the bathroom too many times during night, so my doctor prescribed Detrol La. Is this drug bad for our system? Will it interfere with natural work of the kidneys?

Hello Edith,

Good question. Please see:

Detrol LA Oral - Precautions and Side Effects

NOTE: "Trouble urinating" and "signs of kidney infection (e.g., burning/painful urination, lower back pain, fever)" are listed as "unlikely but serious side effects" of Detrol LA.

I hope this information is helpful to you.   - MG

I took Detrol (and many other OAB meds) for several months. It did not have any effect on my kidneys. The major side effects were dry mouth, blurred vision, and occastional GI problems.
