Q: Can certain foods and beverages cause incontinence?

Can certain foods and beverages cause incontinence?  If yes, how do you suggest coping with this incontinence if one is leery of taking medications for diet related incontinence and the complete removal of certain foods and beverages from your diet is not practical?

I am no expert, but I have learned a lot from joining this group.

Caffeine and alcahol can lead to incontinence as well as drinking too much liquids of any kind.

Some medications may add to the chance of becoming incontinent.

I drink much less coffee and have switched to Green Tea.I do not like Decaf coffee so I switched to Green Tea.I have noticed that I have lesss accidents at night the when I was drinking a lot of coffee.

If you are having accidents when sleeping, try not to drink anything a few hours before bed time.

 Also,see your doctor.

I think you will find this site very helpful,I know I have.
