A Pessary is a medical device that is form fited for the vaginal area, it takes some geting used to and can sometimes chaff and rub the vaginal wall and cause minor irritation and bleeding though not harmful. If used on a periodic basis can be of benefit. The bladder decends/drops and causes pressure, which makes an inability to urinate or relieve themselves completley in older or even pregnant females.
