Hi Beverly,

Thank you for your question! There is not a generic version of Detrol LA available, but there are several medications similar to Detrol LA that are available in generic versions. There is a regular Detrol, known as tolterodine, that is available generic. There is also Ditropan and Ditropan XL, and the generic of those are oxybutynin and oxybutynin ER. Ditropan XL (oxybutynin ER) is the most similar to Detrol LA because it is a once-daily formulation. Regular Ditropan and regular Detrol (and their generics) are the same active ingredient and the extended versions, but they must be taken more than once a day. I would recommend talking to your doctor about trying the oxybutynin ER, which should be much more affordable through your insurance. I hope this helps!

Best of luck,

Casey
