I have been mildly to moderately incontinent for 7 years as a result of a prostectomy. If not a common problem then it is at least not uncommon.

They say 3-6 months is normal. After that it is anybody's guess. If the heavy wetting lasts more than 6 months it could be a sign of a life long situation. Papa  (i am still in diapers 5 years after surgery)

I had my surgery 18 months ago, and despite some progress I still remain moderately to severely incontinent.  It really is very much an individual situation depending upon the extent of the surgery.   On balance I would rather be rid of the cancer even if it does mean I have to use adult diapers and pads.  Keep doing the exercises and follow medical instructions; it will hopefully improve.
