Q: how severe is my bladder prolapse?

My son was born over 15 years ago.  during the entire pregnancy(9 months) i carried him very low. i was in labor for over 30 hours once my water broke. i wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom during the entire labor. after being released from the hospital, i started having problems with my bladder. i couldn't: lift, bend, laugh, cry, walk, run, stand, sit, etc. without leaving a puddle behind. as soon as i noticed, it was too late. back then i could notice the urine leaking. about 10 years ago on a normal ob-gyn well visit the doctor told me i would need surgery. i would need a net to lift my bladder back into its normal place. the county only paid for well visits.  any problems and you were on your own.

i am post mentapausal.  i haven't had my period in almost 2 years since i had an endometrial balloon ablation. now it has gotten worse. i had to leave my job due to the continuous urine flow. before i even started working, i was soaked to my feet. i get rashes due to the constant wetness. i have tried female pads and adult diapers. in less than 10 minutes in i am soaked to my feet and beyond. kegel exercises haven't worked. i used to be able sense when i was leaking. now the flow i continuous.i bleed occassionally and after sex. i wake in a pool of urine. it is hard for me to have an orgasm now. i have lower pelvic pain continuously.

Do you feel a heaviness or a bulge out of your vaginal opening?  The symptoms of a prolapse vary and certainly the incontinence you are experiencing can accompany prolapse symptoms.  If you have questions regarding treatment of prolapse, I would refer you to www.prolapsehealth.com as a great forum for open discussion of the symptoms and various options for treatment.  My recommendations would be to focus on your posture, working to hold neutral spine throughout your day and to reassess how you are performing your Kegel exercises.  Please refer to my blog entries on these topics for more in depth instruction.
