I had a tvt put in on November 3. I took 2 weeks off of work so that I could heal properly, I felt fine afterwards except for when I walked I could feel something rubbing in side. I just assumed that that was normal and waited until my 2 week check-up. When I went to see my gynocologist I explained that it hurt to walk and when I went to the bathroom. He did not check me and said that if I still had problems in a week to call him. I was miserable at work since I do a lot of walking and was taking Tylenol and Advil every 2 hours. On top of the pain of walking and urinating I soon started to feel constant burning and noticing my urine was turning a little orange which was blood. My girlfriend said that maybe it was a UTI since I had never had one before and she had. I made an appt. to see my Dr. and he treated me with antibotics for the UTI that later I found out I did not have. Of course the antibotics did not work 11 days later while I was working I had a lot of blood in my urine. I called the Dr. and they told me to come in as soon as possible. When my Dr. looked at me with a scope he was very nervous when he saw that a piece of the mesh on my left side was dangeling inside my bladder and the rest of it was erroding into my bladder. He made an appointment for me with an urogolist and I was scheduled for surgery a week later which was 2 days before Christmas. The Dr. had a plan A & B but neither of those worked. Luckily he tried something else and he got 90% of it out. He is hoping that scar tissure will grow over the piece and I should be fine. If that does not work then he will have to do more invasive surgery and cut my bladder to get it out. If the piece of mesh is exposed it will cause stones which will lead to complications. When he had taken out most of the mesh it was already forming stones on it. I had asked how this could happened on such a simple procedure and I really cannot get an answer. I feel that because he knows my gyno. he is not telling me everything. All he says there are 2 reasons and don't ask him the first.
