Q: Has my surgery worked?

I had tvt surgery 3 weeks ago but I ;am still leaking slightly, Is this normal? Should I start pelvic floor exercises again or will this interfere with the surgery?

Surgery will often reduce the amount of leakage, but many people still experience some degree of leakage afterwards. While I agree with Maria that you should wait a bit for now because the leakage may lessen with time, please be prepared that you still may leak slightly. I would talk to your doctor about when you can resume pelvic floor exercises.

After incontinence surgery, some people still have temporary urinary troubles. Most of these situations usually resolve within 6 weeks after surgery. Hang in there, and be sure to stay in touch with your doctor on this. Best of luck.   - MG
