Q: I am experiencing painful frequent urination 5 months after bladder augmentation, is this normal?

I had a bladder augmentation in January. I find myself urinating quite frequently. It is common for me to awaken about every 2 hours during the night to urinate as well. I have discomfort, pressure and pain before and during urination. I do not cath. I do give my bladder (both parts) a long time to empty. Is this normal? I am glad to be out of adult diapers, dry and in less pain, but.... I was hoping for better.47y/o female, diagnosis with Spina Bifida type IV - missing posterior sacrum, unprotected thecal sac and neurologic damage. Resulting in neurogenic bladder. 3 years before accurate diagnosis. Besides bladder augmentation I have had spinal surgery.
