Q: TVT Sling Operation and Pubovaginal Operation gone bad in Edmonton Alberta-Will I ever get my life b

I had a Bladder surgery done in May 2007. Dr. used a TVT sling. Since the I have had 4 erosions through the vaginal wall. Finally in Oct 2010 Dr. removed the rest of the mesh and had to cut through the bladder wall. In Mar 2011 I had an other surgery(Pubovaginal Sling) I have nothing but grief since. Lots of pain, constant infection, urge to pee and only peeing a little bit at a time. Saw Dr. 2 weeks ago and he said bladder isn't emptying all the way so you must learn to self catheter. I am only 53 years old. I have lost 4 years of my life just because I didn.t want to pee when I laughed, coughed or sneezed. I am now still learning to self catheter and am on a antibiotic daily plus a another pill for the urge to pee. I asked the doc NOW WHAT-He said he can't do anything about it now call him in a month as he is going on holidays. And to be honest everytime I do call I can only talk to the Receptionist. I don't know about any of you but when you are suffering wouldn.t you want to talk directly to the doc. Besides all of the degrading stuuff you go through for this, I am so frustrated, still in some pain in abdomin and now depressed. I just want my life back. Did all this happen because of the TVT tape or is it the Doctor fault? Anyone? I have been told from other doctors that you don't want to switch urologist-first off because they don't like to fix other doc's screw ups and second because if you try you may very well be blackball by all of them. Does any one know if this is true or not? I want my life back. I don't want my life revolving around a toilet!!!!

This is a very short version of my experiences over the last 4 years.

Why did I never get any information on complications over the last 4 years?

Why can't this be fixed? Help!!!! If anyone has some advise that would be great.

I am a fellow Canadian who has had nothing but problems as well.  I have persistant groin pain, pain to the LLQ of my abdomen and need to take buckets of pain meds to make it through every day.  I had my sling out spring 2008.  I think you should try the urologist.  That is what they do and they should not judge whether they are trying to fix others problems or not.  I too am married to the toilet.  I have urgency and frequency all of the time.  A muscle in my abdomen is in constant spasm.  This has ruined my life.  I can't work and am fighting with disability for my income.  I feel for you and am so sorry you are going through all of these problems.
