I don't have urge incontinence myself, but I know of many people who use medications to manage it (including close family members). Some LOVE the freedom that the meds provide, and others find the side-effects (commonly dry mouth and blurred vision) too bothersome to make it worth it. Some people also use shots of botox to help calm the nerve sensation in the bladder. Neither of these are actual "cures" for urge incontinence because they only work short-term and then have to be repeated to continue seeing / feeling results (by taking another pill, or in the case of botox getting another shot in a few months to a year). And sometimes you'll still have to use adult diapers / absorbent products to help with additional leakage.
Many people have looked into the treatments that are available and they either aren't an option, or don't give the desirable effects, and then decide to use absorbent products / adult diapers for the long term to manage leakage. You definitely are NOT alone in using these products!
