Older women who suffer fractures can be helped with improved follow-up osteoporosis management, U.S. researchers say. A new study from Kaiser Permanente suggests that there's often a disconnect between doctors who treat patients' fractures and the patients' primary care doctors. But management tools such as electronic medical records and outreach programs could help improve outcomes for patients at risk for osteoporosis.
