Bladder problems often linked to mental health issues

Psychiatric problems related to sexual trauma in women increase the risk of lower urinary tract symptoms such as an overactive bladder and incontinence, a new study has found. A study completed by 121 female veterans who had bladder problems and 1,298 women in a control group. They found that those who had lower urinary tract symptoms were more likely to have psychiatric disorders, and over twice as likely to have experienced sexual trauma in their lifetime.   Read full story >
