Generic Name: STANNOUS FLUORIDE GEL - DENTAL
Pronounced: (STAN-us FLOOR-ide)

Gel-Kam Dent Uses

This medication is applied to teeth to prevent cavities. Fluoride is a mineral that works by making the teeth stronger and more resistant to decay caused by acid and bacteria.

Do not use this medication in children younger than 12 years unless directed to do so by your dentist/doctor.

How To Use Gel-Kam Dent

Use this rinse once daily or as directed by your dentist/doctor.

Mix the solution with water as directed just before using. Follow the instructions on your product's package. Using the provided cup, take 1/8 fluid ounce (3.75 milliliters) of the dental rinse and add water to make a total of 1 ounce (30 milliliters) of liquid. Mix using the bristle end of your toothbrush.

After brushing and flossing, place half of the solution into your mouth, swish vigorously for 1 minute, then spit it out. Repeat with the other half of the solution. Do not swallow.

Carefully watch children during use and teach proper rinsing habits to avoid swallowing.

If you are using a home irrigator, prepare 1 ounce of solution as described above. Pour into irrigator reservoir and add 4 more ounces (120 milliliters) of water. Mix thoroughly. Use irrigator as directed. Rinse the irrigator with water after each use.

To get the most benefit, do not eat, drink, or rinse your mouth for at least 30 minutes after using the solution.

Dosage is based on age and the amount of fluoride in your drinking water. Do not exceed the recommended dose without checking with your dentist/doctor. Doing so will not do more to prevent cavities but may lead to side effects instead.

Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same time each day.

Do not treat this medication like a normal mouthwash: do not use it more often than prescribed, or just to freshen your breath.
