Menopause and Trouble Sleeping, Part 1: Sleepless? Join the Crowd…

It has been seven years since I began the sleep deprivation, mood swings, digestive disorders ( read farting) that have been my menopausal experience.  For a year I tried Premarin, then backed away because I was fearful of heart attack and stroke theat.  After several months of night sweats and 24/7 dark moods, I tried Bioidentical HRT for about a year.........only to decide again to go cold turkey...........again the night sweats on an hourly basis and the daytime sweats convinced me to try again with the bio-idents.

Now, I'm 65, have been off bio-idents for about 9 months and haven't slept more than 1 1/2 hours at a time since.  I read these blogs to discover if I am having a singular experience......and think not.  Today my mission was to discover if anyone has created a mattress pad of some sort that would be helpful.  Something that I imagine would separate me from the heat absorbing/radiating surface of the usual mattress top and allow me to stay in bed overnight and perhaps sleep longer than 90 minutes at a time.

The only item I find is a Homedics Temp Rite Mattress Topper...........anybody used this?
