Yes Reba, the vaginal walls can be thinning even though you are on the patch.  As you progress in menopause and your own body's estrogen levels decline, the walls get thinner and drier.  Systemic estrogen (like the patch) is not always enough to treat the vaginal walls and prevent these things happening.  In such a case, you can easily reverse the problem by using vaginal estradiol (estrogen).  It comes in cream, tablet or ring.  All 3 are very effective.  Ask your provider for a prescription.  This is a problem that is easily solved.
