Hi Angel,

First off, find another doctor! Any medical professional who refuses to listen to you just because you smoke is not a true professional. I've kinda had it with a lot of doctors in my area and have turned to a nurse practioner (a woman) who is listens a lot better than my previous doctors, can prescribe medicines, and is sympathetic. Maybe you could find one too. I don't condone smoking but you need a medical partner to help you, not one who refuses to listen. Those awful night sweats are hard to get rid of. Some people try black cohosh, an herbal supplement, some people try yoga, some people say ginko biloba (another herbal treatment) is good. I've read the sciene on these and it is not conclusive, but I say, if it works for you and it's safe, then who cares what the science says! These herbal treatments are not cheap, so don't buy a bunch of them. Try one at a time, for a month say, and see if it works, and if not, go to another. I usually get very good advice at health food stores. Please write back and let me know how you are doing.

Watch this video about menopause and menstruation, a normal, natural shedding process of the uterine lining that occurs monthly in all healthy adult women after puberty.
