Q: i had a historectomy at 39.is it easier to go thru this type of menopause than the natural way?

i had a histerectomy when i was 39. is it easier to go thru menopause this way or the natural way?

Hi Kathy

Of course, everyone is individual so there's not a blanket answer, but -if they left your ovaries- your menopause will be about the same as a natural one except you may go through it a little faster (that can also possibility make the symptoms more intense).

If they removed the ovaries as well, that is usually a more difficult menopause because you have no gradual transition. 

I hope yours has been a reasonably smooth transition,
