Q: I have gone 10 months without a period and just started spotting is this normal?

I have been suffering from perimenopause for a couple of years.  I have been told that you are truly in menopause if you have had no period for 12 months.  I just began my 11th month and woke up to spotting.  Is this normal?  Do I need to start counting all over again?

I think anything is normal....I went 16 months and my body is trying to conjure up a period as we speak...depressing!
