Q: Motion Sickness Worse Than Ever

I'm like Sofia.  I've always had motion sickness.  But it has been getting increasingly worse since I started exhibiting symptoms of menopause.  I'm starting to wonder if this feeling will ever end.  It's making it harder and harder to venture away from home.  Is there any motion sickness remedy that anyone knows of to help with this?  I have tried the Emetrol, Dramamine, etc.  I have even tried the natural remedy of ginger capsules.

Hi Sofia,

Have you had your inner ears tested?  That is where dizziness, light-headedness, vertigo type symptoms often originate.  Having said that, it can also be related to the imbalance in your hormones.  I have seen this in a number of patients..vertigo, nausea, dizziness...and it has been alleviated or at least greatly reduced with bioidentical hormones.  You do not have to be fully in menopause for the changes in hormone balance to cause symptoms.

I would recommend you see a provider who specializes in menopause and prescribes bioidentical hormones...a check-up with an ENT (ear, nose, throat specialist) might be helpful as well.

Good luck!!
