Hi BB,

I have never tried E-string. What is it?

I have vaginal dryness too. I have tried KY lubricant and replens and they worked wonders last time. esp. KY lubricant. My husband used it and I used a KY lubricant for vagina at the same time before the act. It seems to work. To maintain the moisture, one needs to apply the replens regularly or it would not work out too well. I was not told we cannot use oil-based lubricant. It has to be water-based.

Take care,

Nina

Hi Nina,

It is a vaginal ring that emits a low dose of estrogen and you wear it for 3 mos. at a time.  I didn't find it to be very effective with dryness, so I stopped using it as I am not too comfortable with hormone replacement.

We did try the KY silk-e, but am having trouble finding the gel, have to keep trying...

I have also read not to use oil-based lubricant.

Thanks for your thoughts! Good to know we're not alone in this time of life!!

Thanks. I may want to talk about e-string with my doctor. I think Replens and Ky lubricants are the best ones. Maybe you can try to find the gel online.

E-string may cause cancer so I may not use that. I had cancer before. I am cured.

Are you looking for the vagina lubricant in gel form? I have used this thing for a long time and it is good. You need to get it online. This one I know is Vagigard brand and it is in gel form. It is in Illinois and check this brand online and they have vagina lubricant in gel form. It works pretty good. Ky-lubricant is kind of watery and I don't like it - not convenient like the gel.

Good luck,
Nina

I finally found the gel! YAY!! I agree with you on the KY lubricant too watery, so will give the gel a try.

I was not happy about the E-string either when I found out about it may cause cancer...had some Aunts on both sides that had cancer, so that's why I stopped using it.

Thanks for all your help and encouragement!
