Been going through since the age of 40. Now 47 yrs old I have no sex drive the thought of sex seem to make me sick. Hot flashes never ending, I look like I'm 10 months, and gaining more, everytime I eat I feel like I'm going to bust at any giving time.

Hi Nita, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time with menopause. My best advice to you is to find a provider who specializes in menopause and uses bioidentical hormones. All of the perimenopausal symptoms you are having can be greatly reduced or even eliminated with hormones. Look in the yellow pages for compounding pharmacies. They are usually aware of the providers in your area who can best help you. Also, check the website www.bhrtdoctors.com for professionals in your area who work with bioidenticals. In the meantime, you might find that black cohosh, 40-80mg a day, can help with the hot flashes. Over the counter progesterone cream may help balance your moods out, cut down on the cravings and hunger and help you sleep.
