Hi, Sunshine,
According to "The No-Nonsense Guide to Menopause" by Barbara Seaman and Laura Eldridge, research has found that up to 90 percent of women who go through a hysterectomy with oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries) report hot flashes. Some women who have these procedures continue to suffer hot flashes into their 70s and 80s. Seaman and Eldridge also note, "Menopausal symptoms after oophorectomy are probably worse if a woman is premenopausal when she has the surgery."
Take care and keep us posted!
Dorian
