All my parts removed at 31. I am now 48 and it's servere. I feel sick & dizzy& chest hurts?
I can't do anything, if I walk I heat up so fast it's unbearable. I want to kill everyone around. It doesn't take much to get me angry. It's getting worst. My chest hurts all the time. I heat up so fast it's like I have to go in a cold shower or have a fan on me. I also see stars. You know when you hit your head really hard, it' like that. I really have no control over my emotions. I can't sleep well as I sweat so bad. I have been seeing a doc for menopause but it's not helping. I feel I am going to go crazy.
My heart goes out to you Liz. Some of your symptoms are menopausal but some definitely are not. Seeing spots and having your chest hurt are not typical and might be indicators of a more serious problem. I assume you have told your doctor about them? The heat and the anger--I would normally say that's menopausal but, as you say, you had surgery at 31, but I'm not sure exactly what was removed. Anyway, the best thing I can advise is a) make sure your doctor knows about the other symptoms and b) find a support group for woemn in menopause. Our local hospital has one, and maybe yours does too. I've been to meetings where we crack ourselves up laughing. I know nothing you're going through seems funny, and it isn't, but often the warmth and compassion of other women is just what the doctor ordered. If you don't have a local support group, start one. Just invite some friends going through the same thing over to your porch or out somewhere, and share your concerns and experiences. Do it once a month, and widen your circle to other women in the same boat. I'm 99% sure you'll get something useful out of it. You might even have a laugh or two, though it seems pretty far-fetched, I know.
Good luck,
--Toni

Hi Liz, It sounds like you are having some pretty significant symptoms caused by lack of hormones or hormone imbalance. If you had your ovaries removed at age 31, this would be pretty late for symptoms to start IF you haven't been on hormone therapy in between. If, on the other hand, you kept your ovaries, you could well be experiencing the very typical symptoms of your ovaries normally shutting down. The heating up and not sleeping due to night sweats are often caused by low estrogen and the anger and sleep issues are brought on by progesterone lack. The 2 symptoms which I can't tie to hormones are your chest pain and seeing stars. These do not sound normal and I would definitely encourage you to see your primary physician to be evaluated.
I completely agree with the first answer from Toni about the value of sharing your experience with other women. Nothing is more curative than the support and information-sharing that you can get from women who have experienced these issues or those who are in the same boat, trying to find their way as you are. I also strongly encourage you to seek out a provider who specializes in menopause and hormones who is willing to spend the time working with you to a solution. Best of luck, Sandy
