Q: How much weight gain is average to gain durring perimenopause?

I don't think there really is an average, so to speak, Karen.  I've heard it said that a pound a year between 40 and 60 is common.  What I see in my practice is about a 5-30# range.  Like everything else related to hormones and menopause, it's very individual to each woman.  What I can tell you is that it definitely gets easier to gain and harder to lose, especially if your hormones are out of balance.  If you haven't read my latest post on weight gain, you may find some helpful info there.  The 2 most important things to concentrate on, as we've always heard, are nutrition and exercise.
