You don't say how old you were when your periods started or if they were regular every month before October. It's not terribly uncommon for a young woman your age to be irregular, even skipping several periods. However, it can also be a sign of various health issues, probably the most common being thyroid. I would recommend you see your primary care doctor for a basic evaluation. He/She then can determine if you need to see a specialist.
