Hi, Margaret,

I'm so glad you wrote in. I'm not a medical doctor so I'm using "THe No-Nonsense Guide to Menopause" by Barbara Seaman and Laura Eldridge as a reference. They write that only 1-2 percent of women will enter menopause before the age of 40 and only 10 percent by age 45. Some women who are young and who go through menopause have an extremely rare condition called premature menopause in which the body "gets confused and attacks the antibodies the way it woudl attack an illness," Seaman and Eldridge write. They also say that women should not assume menstrual irregularies are signs of menopause since other conditions can be behind erratic periods.

With that said, I'd suggest that you visit your doctor to determine what's going on.

Take care and keep us posted!

It is very very unusual, about 1% of the female population, get your blood tests done to rule out other things like pregnancy or diabetes. Are you anorexic?
