Izzy:   I have found that cutting out sugars, salt, fried foods anything high in cholesterol also helps relieve some of the symptoms of menopause.  Caffeine is another one that will cause hot flashes more often.  I had a heart attack a year ago and I feel so much better today just by changing what I was eating and getting more exercise.    I am still struggling with quitting smoking and I've been told that will also help me to feel even better.  It seems to be the last bad habit to break after being successful with all of the others.  More fruits and veggies are crucial, lots of water, no alcohol or one drink if that is possible.  Diet will definately make a difference.  It is not a cure, but it will relieve some of the symptoms, trust me!
